Seven factors shape the planning range
The estimator does not use one universal price for every opening. It adjusts the range according to the information submitted for the actual project.
1. Service and productGlass-only, hardware repair, full window, door, patio panel, interior glass or storefront.
2. DimensionsWidth, height and thickness or unit construction where known.
3. QuantityItem count and separate sizes for pieces that are not identical.

Why the result is a range
Online estimating has limits—and the page should show them clearly
A photo can show a cracked panel but not always confirm thickness, coatings, edge damage, concealed frame conditions or the safest installation method. A homeowner measurement can be useful for planning without being suitable for fabrication.
That is why GlassQuote presents a low-to-high range and a confidence level. The lower side reflects a simpler confirmed scope. The upper side allows for reasonable uncertainty that remains after the online questions.

Confidence describes the quality and completeness of the inputs. It is not a promise that final pricing will remain inside the online range.
Higher confidence
Exact dimensions, known product and glass construction, clear photos, simple access and a consistent item count.
Medium confidence
Some measurements or specifications are known, but photos, access or product details still require confirmation.
Lower confidence
Unknown sizes, uncertain product type, multiple conditions, difficult access, emergency work or specialized fabrication.

Is the online estimate a binding quote?
No. It is a planning estimate. Final scope, product, tax, availability, service provider and price are confirmed after document, photo or site review.
How are multiple pieces calculated?
Each known piece should be entered with its own dimensions where possible. Different sizes and specifications should not be replaced by one average area.
Why are photos requested for some projects?
